Past Presidents' Forum

The Past Presidents' Forum will meet twice a year to help direct the community service projects of the guild. This committee will work independently of the board and report annually to the guild. All guild members that have served a term as president are welcome.

At the "freebie" section of the stage at guild meetings, an optional donation jar has been added. The money collected in this jar will go to a charitable organization. In the past, we have donated to Kiva an orgnization that makes microloans around the world.

If you have any questions, please see Dorothy Cardi at the meeting.

2020 Annual Report of Community Service Projects:

Kiva: Of the three women who we lent money to in 2019, two have fully paid us back and we have 70% from the third one. Due to Covid, the forum didn't meet in 2020 so there were no loans made last year.

Comfort Quilts: Due to restrictions during the Covid pandemic, almost all locations that normally accept quilts were not permitting donations. We still managed to donate more than 70 comfort quilts.

Quilt of Valor: One quilt presented to World War II veteran Joseph White.

2019 Annual Report of Community Service Projects:

Kiva: The woman who received the loan in 2018 has repaid that loan in full. Two loans of $100 each were made in 2019

Comfort Quilts: Members made a total of 255 quilts and an unknown number of quilts donated to camp for children suffering from cancer

Post Cards: Members sold postcards and received donations for Visiting Nurses Service and Hospice of Suffolk Inc totalling $2320

Quilt of Valor: One quilt presented to a Veteran who is a former Stitcher.
